Established by Ignatius McGreevy in 1980, the company has been working hard in a range of sectors, including the energy, automotive and aerospace sectors under the watchful eye of Ignatius’ son Aaron who recently took over the business.
Since making the decision to join the global aerospace sector, McGreevy Engineering has achieved the AS9100 accreditation and SC21 Bronze Supply Chain award, which have both been invaluable in terms of accelerating the company’s success in the industry.
Managing Director, Aaron McGreevy, said, “My father and I are over the moon to be highly commended for this award. Although as a company we have decades of experience under our belt, certain sectors were facing uncertainty and challenges. As a result, we engaged in a strategy to bolster productivity and competitiveness. In doing so, it helped shape McGreevy Engineering as a key player within the aerospace industry along with other sectors. We are very proud of what we have achieved to date and this commendation is a reflection of the McGreevy’s team hard work and can do attitude. We are looking forward to 2020 and all that it brings.”
The local company has also worked with organisations including Invest Northern Ireland and the Department of Trade and Industry to exhibit at events including Farnborough Air Show, Aircraft Interiors Expo and the Paris Airshow.
Over the last few years McGreevy Engineering has secured a number of impressive contracts and with recent investments in innovative technology, the company is well on its way to winning further high-profile contracts.
All the staff at McGreevy Engineering are delighted to have won the ‘Highly Commended’ title and wish to thank everyone for their continued support.

McGreevy Engineering has been announced as a finalist in this year’s prestigious First Trust Business Eye awards.
The manufacturing company, based in Belfast, has been shortlisted in the Family Business of the Year category, previously won by companies including Mash Direct and Wilsons Auctions.
Established in 1980 by Ignatius McGreevy, McGreevy Engineering has experience in many sectors, primarily the energy and automotive sectors. In January 2017, his son Aaron took over the running of the business, making the decision to diversify into other sectors, mainly the global aerospace sector.
This move paid off for Aaron and the team at McGreevy Engineering. The company acquired the AS9100 accreditation and SC21 Bronze Supply Chain award, both imperative for success in the £31 billion industry, as well as working with organisations including Invest Northern Ireland and the Department of Trade and Industry to exhibit at events including Farnborough Air Show, Aircraft Interiors Expo and the Paris Airshow.
Through their participation at these trade events, McGreevy Engineering secured impressive contracts. Seen as punching well above its weight within the Northern Ireland aerospace sector and with recent investments in innovative technology, the company is future-proofing itself to accommodate further high-profile contracts.
McGreevy Engineering will be in attendance at the First Trust Business Eye Awards Ceremony on Thursday 28th November at the ICC Belfast.
PRECISION engineering company, McGreevy Engineering, continues to invest in the organisation with the purchase of a high-performance CNC coordinate measure machine (CMM) that supports manufacturing operations and allows them to meet global standards for key products.
Additional training of employees has also taken place to ensure the high standards of quality for their growing aerospace customers is maintained as well as allowing them to offer new product in this sector.
The company holds the SC21 Bronze award as well as AS9100, which is designed specifically for the aviation, space and defence industries, and promotes continuous improvement and ensures processes are accurate and consistent.
Aaron McGreevy, Managing Director of McGreevy Engineering said; “This is a key investment for McGreevy Engineering and as we continue to grow, it is imperative that we invest in our people and new equipment. Having been to the Paris Air Show earlier this year and met with some of our current key customers, I view this as the next significant step for our business.
“Quality is such an important aspect in precision engineering and in particular the aerospace sector. We’ve reorganised the factory along with adding some internal structures to tailor the building for the CMM to ensure the right conditions are provided. Our continuing commitment to the quality of output is illustrated by this recent installation. I’m delighted with the end result and that we are up and running and making a significant difference to our customers.”
